Your Budget - Part One -
We have all experienced money problems at some time in our lives.
These could be caused by an illness, a family member’s illness,
sudden loss of a job, divorce, over spending, and many other reasons.
There are literally hundreds of companies right now in the US that
are down sizing or going out of business due to the poor economy.
There are also many examples of poor management and out right fraud.
Despite the reasons, people have lost their income and abilities to
pay their bills.
In
many cases these circumstances can not be prevented. If we can not
prevent them, what can we do? Prepare! Just like the old saying, “an
ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.
It’s
a common recommendation to have a minimum of six months income set aside
in case you lose your income. With the economy the way it is and things
being so expensive, you’ll be lucky to have six days worth of
income set aside.
So
what can you do if you fall into a difficult financial situation and
you don’t have enough saved to get you through? First and foremost,
you need to have a plan in case something unexpected does happen.
Just adding the though of “What IF” while creating your
budget will help you in preparing for the worst.
Here are some ideas that could help you out in preparing;
Always
try to keep your monthly bills to an absolute minimum at all times and
save as much as possible. Even if you’re bringing in good money
you will still need to consider the loss of your income before making
any large purchases.
